I was thrilled to be interviewed by the disarming German film maker, Bernd Pick, at the Bowie World Fan Convention back in July.

He had set up a small, bright studio in St George’s Hall, Liverpool, the neoclassical Victorian civic building where the event took place, and invited people to pop in and tell him about their ‘Bowie journey’ in return for a Werthers Original candy.

Maybe I pocketed more than one.

Three minutes of fame

Bernd’s short pieces to camera featured fans from all over the world alongside world-renowned musicians, artists and top grade celebrities in the Bowie heritage ecosystem.

You can see what I had to say here.

Naturally I had to slip in a few cheeky points about the Rockstar Ending books and their Bowie connection.

What a life!

Legendary sound engineer and producer Ken Scott gave an intimate insight into how Bowie worked in the studio.

Ken is deeply unassuming, despite having worked on some the last century’s greatest recordings.

Not only did he co-produce the iconic Bowie album, ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’, but he also worked extensively with the likes of Elton John and The Beatles. You can see what he had to say here.

A huge thank you to Berndt for capturing the energy of the BowieCon, enabling people to share their memories with a wider audience than the tiny percentage of fans who could make it to Liverpool.
