I have loads to be grateful for this year.
At a time when many are facing difficulties, I have been particularly thankful for my good health, my friends and my family. It has also been rewarding to see interest in the Rockstar Ending series starting to grow.
Hearing from readers with their honest feedback is always a privilege:
‘Terrifyingly possible and gripping to the end.’ Rhona Osbaldeston, five star review of Rockstar Ending on Goodreads, 10 December 2021.
The lonely months of hammering away at the computer keyboard seem worth the effort each time someone feels inspired to share their reaction or post a review. And they keep coming. Thank you.
The media has also begun to get on board with the series.
Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine, the book trade outlet Bookbrunch, and C21 the international entertainment community magazine – have carried stories in the last twelve months. In 2022, I’m hoping to build more momentum in mainstream media. Let’s see how that goes.
In spite of the pandemic restrictions, I’ve been able to squeeze in a few public appearances.
Whether it was reading at Hilly Fields Fayre, being interviewed on the Homespun Wisdom podcast, signing books at a local library, or doing Zoom talks for The Orwell Society and Durham University – every event was great fun and an opportunity to connect with more book fanatics.
Even though I did not publish any new novels in the last 12 months, it has been mad busy. Already 2022 is looking promising.
- I’m going to be a judge for the Orwell Society Dystopian Fiction Prize. Winning an award from them was where this new career all started for me.
- The Rockstar Ending TV series is in development. Thank you to Free@Last TV for getting this show on the road.
- And of course book three, Rockaway is coming on 8th January. I’ll be in touch with more on that very soon.
A big thank you to everyone in the Rockstar Ending road crew, and all the very best for 2022.
